Safety first
The RG pipe grabs from Probst were specially developed for the laying of sewer pipes. With their large gripping surface, they are also gentle on coated pipes and their low lateral clearance even allows working in narrow trenches and picking up closely spaced pipes, e.g. from a lorry loading area. This successful product range has now been extended to include the newly developed RG-20/85-Safelock and RG-100/150-Safelock models. The existing variant RG-75/125-Safelock will continue to be offered. The RG-20/85 covers a classic outer tube diameter of 200 to 870 mm and offers a load capacity of up to 2500 kg. The RG-100/150 reaches one class higher. It holds pipes from 970 to 1530 mm and up to 6000 kg securely in its jaws.
The extra safety is also reflected in the name of these handling devices. "Safelock" stands for a patented safety lock. When the pipes are lifted, a tension is created on the pipe which remains even after the pipe has been set down and is only released by intentional unlocking. In this way, the pipe can be placed and picked up several times without endangering people or material until it is safely placed at the desired location. This ensures maximum safety when handling pipes weighing several tons.
Significant increase in efficiency
The proven pipe lifter RVD from Probst also offers safety when laying reinforced concrete pipes. By means of a mechanical clamping mechanism, the pipes with an inside diameter of 600 to 1200 mm and - in this new RVD-4.5-Eco version - with a weight of up to 4500 kg are now securely clamped and can therefore be placed very precisely at their destination.
The RVD can be attached to any excavator via the integrated flange plate and a quick-change adapter. In this upgrade version 4.5-Eco, which will now be presented for the first time at bauma, it is now also possible to attach it to hydraulic slewing gears such as a rotator or tiltrotator. The increased manoeuvrability gained in this way can save a great deal of time in pipe handling.
The design of the pipelifter was also optimised in the course of the upgrade, so that its more compact dimensions enable easier pipe handling within the shoring. The lifter is also equipped with a plastic plate on the underside so that the pipe can be gently pressed into the correct angle after installation.
Practical innovations
With intelligent solutions like these, Probst once again clearly confirms its innovative leadership in the bauma year. Highly specialized handling products offer solutions for almost every handling task in civil engineering, canal construction and garden and landscaping.
